I was born and raised in the rockies, home of Coors Banquet. My buddies and I undertook a summer project to pay homage to one of our favorite brands. I designed plans for a 4x8 beer dye table. The design was printed across 32 pieces of paper, coded like battleship.
After sanding and adding an initial gold coat, we laid graphite paper underneath each tile and traced the artwork onto the surface. Because we were deliberate about keeping tiles lined up properly, the tracing phase took 3 full days.
Once tracing was in a good place, we went through panel by panel to double check alignment and placement.
We were then ready to move outside and begin filling in the nature elements in the background of the artwork.
Using muted tones, we painted mountains, trees, and a waterfall. After refinining the details, we painted the main focal points.
THE FINISHED PRODUCT
With the main logos and borders added, we finished it with 5 coats of protective coating. We were beyond excited with how it turned out, especially after investing a week of our lives in the project. It was a blast bringing this Coors tribute to life.
